Just home and we're off again very soon, this time for two weeks in Kuala Lumpur.
Peter is semi retired with his own consulting business. He is working with a company that offers training in asset management and he's off to KL for a series of presentations to senior people in local government. Anyway, I'm going to play corporate wife and for the shopping!
I haven't travelled OS since 1976 so will be a big experience for me.

Back from FNQ
Peter and I are back from far north Queensland. We spent five nights in Port Douglas, two nights in Cape Tribulation and five nights in Mission Beach. Loved it all and spent a lot of time walking barefoot on the beach - fabulous!
Cape Tribulation was great - we stayed at Cape Trib Exotic Fruit Farm which is a B&B within arms reach of the World Heritage Rainforest. They have two rooms available which are tree house style timber cabins.
Photos? will post if I get time before our next trip.

Klutz!

Peter has broken his ankle.
He stepped off an edge awkwardly at Puffing Billy yesterday (Easter Sunday) - ambulance to Angliss Hospital in Upper Ferntree Gully. I drove to collect him and got a lift to Belgrave this morning to collect the car.
Good job I'm on holidays at the moment!!!

The Sunlander
Peter and I travelled Queenslander Class on the Sunlander from Brisbane to Cairns. It's a slow trip but very genteel and reminiscent of yesteryear. We enjoyed delightful company, delicious meals and entertainment by singer and keyboard player, Paul.
Death of a wine cask
Lyn's cask of red wine died a horrible death in the cooler box. Here we dispose of the evidence at Merluna Station near Weipa.Day 9 Chili Beach
It was a rough journey into Chili Beach, but a leisurely walk along the white sands made up for the discomfort. What a lovely way to end a beautiful day. When we returned to camp Rob was attempting to relieve a coconut palm of its fruit. He wasn't successful, however someone gave him a coconut they had acquired earlier. The fresh coconut was delicious.
After a very windy night we explored the beach before setting off for Portland Roads.

Day 11 Hann Crossing
Arriving at our riverside bush camp in the late afternoon I noticed a small crocodile swimming across the river. No worries, at least he was going the other way. After setting up camp we discovered a goanna while on the long cross country trek to the toilets.
Later, Rhonda and I enjoyed photographing a beautiful sunset.

Back from "The Tip"

Just returned from a wonderful holiday to "The Tip" of Australia. Thirteen days of camping, 4WD on the old telegraph track, corrugations and dust, crocodiles and glorious sunsets. Thanks to Wilderness Challenge and our driver, guide, cook and all round good mate, Colin Henry, for such a fantastic adventure.
